A new AI-driven fatigue monitoring system has been launched to help prevent accidents and enhance worker safety across high-risk industries. The system, known as Fatigue-as-a-Service (FaaS), is the result of a collaboration between Sleep Advice Technologies (SAT) and AI specialist mimik.

The service aims to help businesses in transportation, maritime, logistics, construction, and industrial sectors reduce fatigue-related risks. It works by providing real-time fatigue insights without the need for continuous cloud connectivity, ensuring compliance with global and regional regulations.

SAT, a leader in fatigue science and risk management, has developed fatigue prediction and prevention tools for several years. By integrating these with mimik’s Device-First Continuum AI (DFC-AI), the FaaS platform can analyse data directly on endpoint devices, rather than relying on cloud-based processing. This allows for real-time detection of fatigue risks, even in remote or low-connectivity environments.

Riccardo Groppo, CEO of Sleep Advice Technologies, said: “SAT has spent years perfecting fatigue management solutions that help organisations proactively address one of the most critical safety risks. By integrating our product with mimik’s AI enablers, we’re delivering a first-of-its-kind solution that empowers businesses to prevent fatigue-related risks before they occur.”

The technology is expected to improve safety for workers in industries where fatigue can be a significant hazard. By shifting AI processing to endpoint devices, mimik’s DFC-AI transforms them into autonomous, AI-powered nodes capable of monitoring fatigue levels in real time. This approach eliminates the need for constant cloud access and removes the complexity of country-specific customisations, making the system scalable across different regions.

Fay Arjomandi, Founder and CEO of mimik, described the partnership as a breakthrough for workplace safety. “By combining SAT’s fatigue expertise with our DFC-AI technology, we’re helping organisations eliminate risks before they become incidents and increase productivity,” she said.

The partnership will also see SAT’s fatigue intelligence integrated into mimik’s HybridTrax solution, further expanding its safety applications. The system is designed to meet strict regulatory requirements while offering businesses a cost-effective way to monitor fatigue among their workforce.

The new technology will be demonstrated at NVIDIA’s GTC 2025 event, where attendees will be able to see the AI-driven fatigue monitoring system in action.
