HONOR has announced a major shift in its corporate strategy, aiming to evolve from a smartphone brand into a global AI-driven technology ecosystem. Alongside this, the company has introduced the HONOR Earbuds Open, a pair of open-ear wireless earbuds featuring advanced AI-powered capabilities.
The new strategy, named the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, marks the company’s ambition to expand beyond smartphones and create an interconnected AI device ecosystem. HONOR says it will foster open collaboration across industries, breaking traditional technological boundaries to co-develop innovative solutions with industry partners.
As part of this shift, the brand unveiled the HONOR Earbuds Open, an AI-powered open-ear audio device designed for comfort, high-quality sound, and smart functionalities.

The HONOR Earbuds Open feature an ergonomically designed open-ear structure, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. Each earbud weighs just 7.9g and is made with skin-friendly silicone, making them suitable for long periods of wear.
The device incorporates high-performance nitinol memory alloy, providing flexibility and stability, even during physical activities such as running or gym workouts. This makes them an attractive option for users seeking comfort, whether commuting, working, or exercising.

Three distinct modes enable real-time language translation:
- Shared Mode: Ideal for conversations between two people speaking different languages, with translations delivered directly into each user’s opposite earbud.
- Exclusive Mode: Designed for travellers, where translations play through the phone’s speaker while one person speaks.
- Simultaneous Interpretation: Useful for lectures or meetings, where translations are provided in real time through the earbuds.
The device is also compatible with Google Assistant, allowing users to perform voice commands, control their phone, and manage tasks with ease.
Battery Life and Additional Features
The HONOR Earbuds Open come with a 58mAh battery per earbud and a 480mAh charging case, providing extended use without frequent recharging. They also include a Find Earbuds feature, which emits a beeping sound to help locate misplaced earbuds.
