Partou Lancaster Avenue Day Nursery and Pre-school in Dulwich has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating in all areas following its recent Ofsted inspection. The nursery, located just five minutes from Tulse Hill and West Dulwich railway stations, offers high-quality childcare and early years education to families within the London borough of Lambeth.
Set in a large period property, Partou Lancaster Avenue boasts spacious, light-filled playrooms and a generously sized garden area, featuring sandpits, vegetable patches, and mud kitchens, creating an ideal environment for young children to explore and learn. The nursery is dedicated to fostering the development of confident, capable young learners through its committed team of early years professionals.
The Ofsted report highlighted the “welcoming environment” cultivated by the team. The inspector noted that “children arrive happily and feel safe,” with staff forming “secure attachments” with the children in their care. The team was also praised for being “good role models” who engage with the children in “kind, warm tones,” and for their clear vision of what they want children to achieve. As a result, children respond positively to the staff’s high expectations and display excellent behaviour.
Partnerships between staff and families were also recognised as a strength of the nursery. Parents spoke highly of the “kind and attentive” staff, noting the progress their children had made in developing social skills and becoming more independent. Many parents expressed how excited their children were to attend the nursery, with some commenting that their children “eagerly run in for breakfast every morning.”
The nursery’s safeguarding practices were another area of praise in the Ofsted report. The inspector highlighted the “open and positive culture” surrounding safeguarding, ensuring that children’s welfare is always prioritised.
Jonelle Jacob, Nursery Manager at Partou Lancaster Avenue, expressed her pride in the outcome of the inspection. She said: “I’m really pleased with the outcome of the inspection and would like to thank the team for their continued hard work in creating such a welcoming environment. We strive to give children a ‘home away from home’ experience, which is why we focus on building strong partnerships with families.”
Jacob also emphasised the team’s commitment to maintaining high standards and continually improving. “We’re proud of the Ofsted judgement, and we’ll keep working to ensure we raise those standards even higher in the future,” she added.
Samantha Rhodes, Managing Director at Partou, also praised the team’s efforts. “I warmly commend Jonelle and her team for the quality of experience they provide to families, as reflected in this impressive report,” said Rhodes. “At all our settings, children lead the way, and our team is there to nurture their emerging abilities and make each day as enriching and fun as possible.”
Partou Lancaster Avenue’s ‘Good’ Ofsted rating reflects the dedication of its staff in offering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children, and its continued commitment to delivering high-quality early years care.
