Duckhams, the renowned British motor oil brand with a history spanning 125 years, has appointed two new members to its Strategic Leadership Team. The appointments come as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership and support its global expansion.

Graham Lane has joined the company as Head of Commercial, bringing 25 years of experience in the lubricants industry. Lane’s career includes senior roles at Comma Oil and Moove Europe, where he led Business Intelligence and CRM projects, focusing on international growth. His most recent position was Business Intelligence & Sales Support Manager at Moove Europe, where he oversaw sales support activities and developed systems and tools to drive revenue growth.

Shweta Singh has been appointed Head of Human Resources. Singh brings over 13 years of experience in strategic leadership, talent management, and organisational development. She has previously worked as HR Manager at Gulf Petrochem, MAG Lubricants, and ASPAM Indian International School, where she gained a reputation for aligning HR strategies with business goals and driving effective change management. Singh’s appointment is seen as crucial in supporting Duckhams’ people-driven growth strategy.

Commenting on the new appointments, Duckhams CEO Mike Bewsey said: “I am delighted to welcome Graham and Shweta to our expanding global team. Graham’s expertise will be vital as we continue to implement our Go To Market strategy, while Shweta’s experience will ensure we continue to prioritise our greatest asset: our people.”

This year marks Duckhams’ 125th anniversary, a milestone that has provided the company with the perfect opportunity to reflect on its long legacy in the industry. Duckhams’ innovative spirit dates back to its founding in 1899 by Alexander Duckham, who was responsible for developing groundbreaking oils that shaped lubrication technology. Among the company’s early achievements was the creation of process oils to control carbon build-up in the 1920s and the launch of Europe’s first multigrade oil in 1951.

The company has also maintained a strong connection to motorsport throughout its history, with notable achievements in Formula 1, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), and numerous other motorsport disciplines. Duckhams has supported legendary drivers, including Colin Chapman, Ayrton Senna, and James Hunt, alongside current champions such as Dan Cammish and Shaun Balfe.

In addition to the new leadership appointments, Duckhams has been bolstering its senior leadership team. This year, the company welcomed CEO Mike Bewsey, Head of Marketing Rajat Moitra, Head of Technical and Procurement Chris Clarkson, and new Head of Sales for the EAME region Henrik Hansen.

Duckhams now delivers high-performance engine oils across 27 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, continuing to provide lubricants for both passenger and commercial vehicles. As it celebrates 125 years of excellence, Duckhams is well-positioned to continue its legacy of innovation and quality in the automotive sector.
