The Yorkshire division of Ashberry Homes has celebrated not only the arrival of the first family to its Pilgrim’s Way development in Beverley but also the emergence of what may be the world’s tiniest housebuilder.
Laura Dodds and Scott Manterfield have recently moved into their new four-bedroom detached home, the Trillium, and their two-year-old son, Harry, is already fully engaged in the building process. Shortly after their move, Harry was spotted wearing an Ashberry hardhat and enthusiastically directing construction activities from the living room window.
“Harry absolutely loves watching the Ashberry builders at work,” said Laura. “When we mentioned this to the sales advisor, Cathy, she arranged for him to have his own hardhat by the very next day. The only issue is it’s a real challenge getting him to take it off—even at bedtime!”
The family made the decision to move from a smaller home in Beverley, seeking a larger space to accommodate their growing needs. They chose Ashberry’s Trillium model based on its spacious design, contemporary style, and appealing location.
“We wanted to stay in Beverley and loved the location of Pilgrim’s Way, the contemporary home style, and of course, the extra space it would give us,” Laura added. “Now that we’re moved and settled in, we’re delighted just how it suits all of our needs perfectly.”
Amanda Thomas, sales manager for Ashberry Yorkshire, expressed her satisfaction with the development. “Our aim isn’t just to build and sell new homes; it’s to create new communities that will quickly become cherished parts of the local landscape,” she said. “Pilgrim’s Way is shaping up perfectly, and it’s lovely to see a young family like Laura, Scott, and Harry moving in and loving their new home.”
Pilgrim’s Way is situated in a picturesque area off Woodmansey Mile, just a short walk from Beverley town centre and the historic Minster. The development will eventually comprise 114 homes, including two, three, and four-bedroom properties, all built to modern standards.
Current prices at Pilgrim’s Way range from £234,995 for a two-bedroom semi-detached Sundew to £409,995 for a four-bedroom detached Angelica.
As the Ashberry Homes team continues their construction efforts, the sight of Harry in his hardhat adds a delightful touch to the development, symbolising the joy and community spirit that new homes can bring.
